Welcome to tagd.exe, a dazzling, zero-gravity playground where speed and agility are the only currency. This is a competitive, two-player adrenaline rush where you and your rival trade roles in the ultimate game of high-stakes tag.

The Rules of the Void

In fast-paced rounds across a spectacular, neon-infused map, you and your opponent will experience both sides of the hunt:

  • The Runner (Escape Mode): Your goal is survival. Use your advanced movement systems to navigate the terrain, dodge obstacles, and evade your opponent until the round clock expires. Master the map's geometry to stay one step ahead.
  • The Chaser (Pursuit Mode): Your objective is simple: make contact. Use speed and precision to track your opponent's path across the ramps and suspended platforms. The chase ends the moment you tag them and pass the status of the hunt.

Movement: Dash and Jump

Your character is equipped with cutting-edge thrusters essential for navigating the complex orbital arenas:

  • The Jump: A powerful vertical boost allowing you to clear massive gaps, vault over obstacles, and take unexpected shortcuts across the map.
  • The Dash: A quick, directional burst of speed perfect for weaving through tight corridors, making sudden escapes, or closing that critical final meter.

Learning when to unleash these abilities is the difference between freedom and being caught in the light.

Providing a bit of lore to the game and its name.

Tag is called 鬼ごっこ in Japanese, which roughly translates to demon's game. The game is set on this futuristic-cyberspace setting, so we linked this to the computer science concept of a "daemon". Most daemon programs have a "d" as a suffix (i.e. syslogd or systemd), so we added that to the tag game to create a "daemon tag".
